Game Startup Workshop Series

The Washington Interactive Network brings you the Game Industry StartUp workshops which feature panel discussions held throughout the year to help with the education and growth of companies in the video game industry. Past workshops have covered a wide range of business topics such as business plan development, legal, accounting, funding, marketing, HR, publishing, distribution and exit strategies.

Over the last two years, we've had over 200 participants in these workshops. Attendees include executives who want to keep up with current trends, those who are looking to start their new business, those in the midst of starting their own company, and those who are at the point of transitioning their business plan or products.  Past speakers include executives from Bungie, Nintendo, Microsoft, NCsoft, Zombie, Amazing Society, PopCap, Sandlot Games, SOE Seattle, and more.

Washington Interactive Network

Washington Interactive Network's purpose is to promote nurture and grow the interactive media industry in the state of Washington. WIN is an economic development program currently funded by sponsorships and by enterpriseSeattle.

In 2004, WIN's strategic plan was developed by Director Kristina Hudson and a task force of industry executives and is still followed today. 

1. To promote and grow the region as a global center for interactive media, content, and IP creation.

2. To educate government and community leaders about the importance of this industry to the local economy.

3. To work with educational institutions to ensure our local workforce is being prepared for the jobs of tomorrow.

4. To assist and recruit in company growth of our region.

The workshops are at Washington Interactive Networks new REACTOR space on the corner of Elliott and Broad.  There is street parking as well as parking lots in the area.
